Here are states I've been to:

visited 15 states (30%)

In the aforementioned If I Had A Million Dollars entry I talked about my dream of travel. I'd like each of these to be red. My criteria for having visited a state is having sat down somewhere for a meal- sort of a flemsy premise, I know, but, let's face it, I love food. It makes my trip to the Milwaukee airport count for Wisconsin. Did I not leave the airport? Yeah, but I enjoyed a meal there. I count it. I didn't just drive through. Although, driving through a state is spending a lot of time with a state. Anyway, I have a few ways in the works to help fill in these states:

1) Doing the I-95 Roadtrip. This would knock out those east coast states, and would be an epic/awesome road trip. I really like driving, actually. Highway driving specifically is good for me because I can freely sing along to the radio. I want to do this next summer!

2) Going to Cal-i-forn-i-a (as Tupac would have said). My wonderful friend Laura, who lives in Santa Barbara, just got engaged. I think this means travelling to Cali for her wedding. I've already suggested a road trip as opposed to flying to my friend Kelly. Even if she decides to get married in Missouri, I think a road trip is due. I'm ready to go now.

What are your travel dreams, readers?

  2. My travel dreams include:
-Going to Peru and going to Macchu Picchu (I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly, but I'm much too lazy to google it)
-Going to Belize, and pretty much any and every South American country.
-I want to go to every Carribbean island there is.
-I love Key West and Miami so, I'd love to go there again.
-I can't leave out D.C. or France for the museums. I just couldn't.

**One of the dreams I have that I hope turns into a reality would be that my sister, mom, and Kevin would all get to go to Italy. Katie has been there a few times and I want to see what she got to see.

And I'm upset that your road trip plans did not include a trip to Louisiana, my dear friend. Sadface. The biggest, saddest face you've ever seen.

  3. I'm so excited for a California road trip! The last time I was there, I was maybe 13 and I only remember a few highlights:

    1. A lady at the hotel told us that she saw Queen Latifah on Rodeo Drive and I was instantly pissed that we didn't see her.

    2. Everyone there is so active! People were outside literally all day, walking on beaches, rollerblading (well, maybe not anymore), hanging out with their dogs...It was really difficult to go back to Chicago, which is still chilly in March/April.

    3. We went to Balboa Island (where the Bluth family has their banana stand on Arrested Development) and it was adorable.

    4. My hands didn't fit in Marylin Monroe's handprints at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. :(

I've been fortunate enough to go to London and Scotland, but I would totally do that again. I would also go to France again, and maybe try to hit up Switzerland because it was really beautiful from the plane (and their chocolate was sooooo good!) Their airport was also easily the nicest airport I've ever seen...it was like an upscale mall that just happened to offer air travel. :)
